Jon Lajoie Everyday Normal Guy

Jon Lajoie, very very funny comedian with some really funny, impressive songs. This was an interview/session we did with him at Carolines Comedy Club in NYC. He was nice enough to do some acoustic versions of some of his more famous songs. Good times. All shot on the Sony Z1U and edited with Final Cut Studio Pro.  I love the way he f**ks up and starts over…he makes it just seem normal, like an everyday normal guy.

Lance Armstrong Video

This was a commercial we did at RG/A featuring Lance Armstrong for NIKE. It was all edited by RG/A’s digital studio. I worked in the digital studio in the audio department. I did the music for this using ProTools. I played the guitar track and created the drums with some synth.

- Music written, performed and produced by DLP

- All  sound created using ProTools on a Mac.

AICP Promo

This was a promotion for AICP. It was a 30 second sound clip that I did the sound design for. All the audio was done with ProTools. I am really happy with the way this came out. It combines very cool minimal music and some really cool sound design. I like the sound I made at :35 into it.

- Music/Sound written, performed and produced by DLP using ProTools.

DVD Menu Animation

This is a splash screen/menu animation I made for my own DVD show reel. I made the graphics using Photoshop and After FX. I also made the music and sound FX using ProTools. I had After FX tie that animation to the sound, that’s how and why it all looks like it’s synced together. I took the DLP and flipped it, then put a dark layer over it and changed the opacity to something like 30% to give that reflection look on the bottom.

- Graphic work done by DLP

- Music/Sound Design by DLP using ProTools.

- Motion graphic work done by DLP using After FX.

NIKE Woman Video

This was a promo for NIKE running we did at RG/A. I did the music for this in about an hour. It was done with ProTools and I played the guitar for it too. I mixed it in about an hour too. It came out good. I think it provides a nice mood for the video.

The Veronicas

Veronicas   - Untouched live at UGO. This was part of the UGO Raw series. I shot this and I did the interview, that’s on another clip on this site, but, this was cool. I did this with 2 Z1Us and a couple of lavs, and hand-held’s, strategically placed that gave me a sound I could use and work with. I liked these girls, and their band. They were all really nice people.

UGO Sizzle

This was a quick sizzle reel that I did for the sales team at UGO. I made all the screen grabs for the website shots. I made all the opening titles too. This was a process. We had a LOT of footage and a lot to show. I never like “webassodes” that are longer than 2.5 min. It just dosen’t make sense. In this case, there was just too much to show. Anyway, I like the way it came out. I like the choice of music, picked by me. I didnt have a lot to choose from. But I am really happy how this came out and I think it looks great.

- Edited by DLP using Final Cut Pro.

Ring of Fire Production Reel

This was the production reel for the company Ring of Fire in LA. They did a lot of movie effects and a lot of different shows. They have a lot of talented people working for them and Jerry and John were some of the coolest owners I ever worked for. I composed the music for this, played all the instruments and produced it. I did it all with Protools.

Verizon Window

This was a sound design piece I did while I was the head Audio Designer at RG/A in New York. RG/A is one of the biggest Ad Agency’s with clients that include NIKE, Verizon and IBM, among others. This was done using sound FX, some folley (I think that is my friend pretending to be the TV announcer) and a mix of room tone.

JET – Look What You’ve Done

Another installment of UGO Raw. We didn’t shoot this. We just got the raw footage.  I edited this with Final Cut Pro. The sound was ok, but needed some work. I like this, its a great song and its cool to see this stripped down acoustic version.
